TWO people have been transported to hospital in a stable condition following a plane crash at Chinchilla Airport this morning.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Aerodrome Rd at 9.47am after the light aircraft crashed as a result of “problems during take off”, a police spokesperson said.

Both patients are in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

One patient has minor lacerations to the head and foot. The second patient, a male, has a suspected ankle fracture.

Aerodrome Rd remains blocked in both directions outside the airport while fire crews and bystanders assess the damage.

The wreckage of the plane was lying beside Aerodrome Rd, close to the aerodrome entrance at the northern end of the runway.

It has since been cleared.
